I spent 3 nights at Holiday Inn Club Vacations' Orange Lake Resort in Orlando (see our Orlando deals with Waterpark) (see our Orlando deals for Families) last month. Here's the honest review.
The Property
Orange Lake Resort is 1,500 acres, one of the largest timeshare complexes in the world. 5 pools, 4 golf courses, waterpark, multiple restaurants, shops, activities. It's basically a small town.
My unit was a 2-BR villa — 1,150 sq ft, full kitchen, fireplace, balcony. Recent soft-good refresh (looks like 2023 update). Clean, well-maintained.
The Vacpack
$149 for 3 nights, Sunday-Wednesday. Deposit $149 (refunded after presentation). Kids free in unit up to max 6.
The Presentation
90 minutes exactly. Sales rep was friendly but direct. Focus on Holiday Inn Club's points system (called "Orange Lake Holidays").
Manager drop-in happened at minute 75. Final offer was $15,000 for a points package. I declined using the "I don't make same-day decisions" script. Accepted graciously. Deposit refunded at check-out.
Check-In to Check-Out
Check-in: clean, fast, 5 minutes. Check-out: same. No weird upsell moments at front desk.
Housekeeping included. Pool towels provided. WiFi fast (30+ Mbps). No resort fee.
Pros
- Massive property with genuinely varied activities
- Quiet despite size — large grounds absorb crowds
- Family-friendly across all age ranges
- Waterpark on-site — big draw for kids
- Spacious units with real kitchens
- Presentation tone was reasonable (not aggressive)
Cons
- Spread out — need a car or tram to get between buildings
- Pitch still 90 minutes despite being gentler than Westgate
- Limited restaurant options on-property if staying multiple days
- IHG loyalty points don't apply (different program)
Rating: 4/5
