The PTO bridge formula
- Locate a holiday and note which weekday it lands on.
- Count the workdays between it and the nearest weekend — those are your bridge days.
- PTO used = bridge days. Total off = bridge days + the holiday + both weekends touching the block.
- Multiplier = total off ÷ PTO used. Aim for 2.0 or higher.
