How much does a vacation package actually save you?
It saves you the difference between a normal hotel booking and the package price for the same nights. The honest comparison has three parts: the hotel nightly rate, the number of nights, and the fees the hotel tacks on. Add those up, then subtract what the vacation package costs. What remains is your real savings.
Across our tracked inventory the average price-per-night on a deal is $94, the average total deal price is $301, and the median is $199. Because packages bundle nights at a flat rate, the more nights you book and the pricier the market, the larger the gap grows.
The savings formula
- Hotel side: nightly rate × nights, then add resort and parking fees for each night.
- Deal side: the flat package price (already includes the nights).
- Savings = hotel side − deal side.
- Divide savings by party size if you want per-person savings.

Two cautions keep the number honest. First, many packages require a preview presentation, so factor that time in. Second, watch the hotel side for resort and parking fees, which our resort fee impact calculator breaks out. For live prices in a market like Orlando, check the rate recap, then browse current vacation deals and run your own numbers.
